HOW TO APPLY FOR CITIZENSHIP OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA  

In order to receive Armenian citizenship the following documents should be submitted to the Consular Section:

 

1. Citizenship Application Questionnaire filled out in Armenian only

2. Letter in the name of the President of the Republic Armenia requesting the Armenian Citizenship

3. Passport and clear photocopies of the pages of the passport with photograph, validity and personal data

4. Original and photocopy of birth certificate

5. Original and photocopy of marriage certificate (if applicable)

6. Photocopy of passport of spouse (only if the spouse is an Armenian citizen)

7. Photocopies of passports of children (only if the child is an Armenian citizen)

8. Proof of Armenian descent/origin - e.g. Baptism Certificate, Birth Certificates of parents (only if it is not specified in applicant’s birth certificate)

9. Travel Passport/Special Residency Passport and clear photocopies of pages of the passports with photograph, validity and personal data (only if applicant does not possess a valid citizenship passport)

10. Six passport size professional color photographs with light background

11. Money order in the amount of US $3.00 payable to the Embassy of Armenia (fee is non-refundable)

 

Note:

• Applicant must apply for citizenship in person (applications by mail are not acceptable).
• All the documents in foreign language (not in Armenian) should be translated into Armenian and notarized before submission.
• The applicant must take a test on Constitution of the Republic of Armenia within 10 days after submitting required documents at the Embassy of Armenia.
• Citizenship application is processed within one year. Rejected applicants may reapply for the Citizenship one year after their initial application was rejected.
