Armenia participated with a dedicated booth to the “BookExpo America” international exhibition in New York

On May 27-29 “BookExpo America” international book exhibition, the biggest publishing event of North America took place in New York, and Armenia participated in it with a dedicated booth for the first time.

Mrs. Hasmik Poghosyan, the Minister of Culture of Armenia, and H.E. Tigran Sargsyan, the Ambassador of Armenia to the United States participated in the official opening of the Armenian booth.

The opening ceremony was accompanied with the performance of “Hover” State Chamber Choir. The presentations of the books by writers from various cities took place. The books “Nowhere, a Story of Exile” by Anna Astvatsaturian Turcotte, “All the light there was” by Nancy Kricorian, “Scared Justice” by Marian Mesrobian Maccurdy, “Armenian Diaspora Project” by Scout Tufankjian, “Libretto for Desert” by Sona Van and “Like Water on Stone” Dana Walroth were presented.

The Armenian booth was named “Armenia”. 250 books were represented there, most of which were in foreign languages.
