Event dedicated to the First Republic of Armenia in Washington D.C.

30 May, 2015

On May 30 the Armenian National Committee of America and the Sebouh Gomideh of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation organized an event dedicated to the victories of the Armenian people in the Heroic Battles of May and the restoration of independence.

In his remarks H.E. Tigran Sargsyan, Armenia’s Ambassador to the United States congratulated the participants on the occasion of the Republic Day and said that although the First Republic of Armenia existed for only two and a half years, it played a crucial role for the future of the Armenian people. Being the highest form of self-organization of the nation, the First Republic established the foundations of the future existence, advancement and prosperity of the Armenian people. “If the First Republic didn’t come to existence, the Soviet Armenia would not be there, and the current Republic of Armenia wouldn’t have existed as well.”
