On February 5th Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Varuzhan Nersesyan met with Senator Jack Reed (D-RI), member of the Senate Appropriations and Armed Services Committees.

Ambassador Nersesyan thanked the Senator for his congratulatory message to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan following the December 9th snap parliamentary elections, as well as his efforts towards securing US foreign assistance to Armenia and campaigning the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

Ambassador Nersesyan briefed Senator Reed on the positive feedback of international observers and a number of renowned American and international publications and organizations on the December 9th snap parliamentary elections and democratic processes in Armenia.

Ambassador Nersesyan and Senator Reed also touched upon a number of areas of the Armenian-American bilateral agenda, highlighting the role of the Armenian-American community and the urge for deepening the inter-parliamentary ties.
