Meeting between Ambassador Makunts and Congresswoman Malliotakis

On October 21st Lilit Makunts, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United States of America, met with member of House Foreign Affairs Committee, Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (R –New York).
Ambassador Makunts briefed Congresswoman about the agenda of the Armenian-American relations and the spheres of cooperation.
Interlocutors touched upon regional security issues. In that context Ambassador Makunts briefed about the challenges and humanitarian crises followed by the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Ambassador Makunts stressed the need for the unconditional repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and captured civilians held in Azerbaijan.
Congresswoman expressed readiness to assist in various issues, considering her membership in the Congressional Caucuses of Armenian and Greek issues. In that regard, Congresswoman Malliotakis highly assessed the existing friendship of the Armenian-Greek peoples.
