“A New Golden Age of Archeology: Recent Discoveries in Armenia” - a book presentation by Ambassador Michael Gfoeller

On June 23rd we hosted the presentation of Ambassador Michael Gfoeller’s* recent book “A New Golden Age of Archeology: Recent Discoveries in Armenia”.

The book includes not only description of recent excavations and scientific research conducted in various places of Armenia but also photos of findings which shed a light on our ancestor’s daily routine. Ambassador Gfoeller presented the book and their invaluable work as well as highlighted wine making process in Armenia in ancient times.

Ambassador Makunts extended her gratitude to Ambassador Gfoeller for his book, emphasizing that it is noteworthy to mention the huge work, excavations and all relevant scientific research that laid a foundation for this great book to be published.

A Q&A session followed the presentation.

* Ambassador Gfoeller served for 26 years as a US Foreign Service officer. His career included service in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Russia, Armenia, Moldova, Poland and Belgium. He also served as the Senior Political Advisor to General David Petraeus.
