  On October 3rd the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the US held an official reception dedicated to the 28th Anniversary of the Independence of Armenia.   On September 16-17, the National Advocacy Conference organized by Armenian Assembly of America was held in Washington. Ambassador Nersesyan delivered remarks during the panel discussion titled “The Armenia-U.S. Relations: Democratic Reforms and U.S. Assistance” and reflected on the dynamic development of the Armenia-U.S. bilateral relations since the independence of Armenia, emphasized the importance of the US assistance to the large-scale reforms launched by the Armenian government aimed at strengthening the democratic institutions, rule of law, judicial and legal system, as well as fight against corruption.   On September 10, upon the invitation of The Knights and Daughters of Vartan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United States of America Varuzhan Nersesyan, along with the Staff members of the Embassy, as well as many representatives of the Armenian community of Washington D.C. participated in the celebration of the 28 th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia in the St Mary Armenian Apostolic Church.
