On February 8th Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Varuzhan Nersesyan met with Congressman Jeffrey Fortenberry (R-NE), member of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues. The Ambassador thanked the Congressman for supporting a number of Armenian Genocide resolutions and his efforts towards protecting the religious minorities in the Middle East.

01.02.2019 • Conversation with Dr. Tom Catena, Chair of the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, at the Embassy of Armenia to the United States

On February 1st the Embassy of Armenia to the United States hosted a reception and conversation with Dr. Tom Catena, laureate of the 2017 Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity and newly-elected Chair of the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative. The event was part of a series of discussions and lectures featuring Dr. Catena, organized by the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative throughout the United States. The event was attended by benefactors, representatives of humanitarian organizations, community leaders and civil activists, Armenian and American doctors, scientists and genocide scholars.

On January 30th Ambassador Nersesyan met with Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI), member of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues. 29.01.2019 • The celebration of the 27th anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces at the Embassy of Armenia

On January 29th the Embassy of Armenia to the United States hosted a reception to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces. The event was attended by Ms. Laura Cooper, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, the Kansas National Guard delegation, headed by the Adjutant General of Kansas National Guard Major General Lee Tafanelli, Commander of the Kansas Army National Guard Brigadier General Anthony Mohatt, and Commander of the Kansas Air National Guard Brigadier General David Weishaar, as well as high-ranking military officers, Defense Attachés from the Embassies accredited in Washington DC, State Department Officials and Ambassadors.

On January 17th Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Varuzhan Nersesyan met with Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI). Ambassador Nersesyan congratulated the Senator on his recent re-election. He also thanked the Senator for his congratulatory letter to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan following the December 9 snap parliamentary elections, as well as his efforts towards the recognition of the Armenian genocide.
