24.10.2017 • Reception to Celebrate Armenia’s 26th Independence Day and the 25th Anniversary of US-Armenia Diplomatic Relations

On October 24 the Rayburn House Office Building hosted a reception to mark Armenia’s 26th Independence Day and the 25th anniversary of US-Armenia diplomatic relations, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the United States and the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, in partnership with the Armenian Assembly of America and the Armenian National Committee of America.

16.10.2017 • Vice Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan’s meeting with California Governor Jerry Brown

On October 16 the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mr. Vache Gabrielyan met in San Francisco with the Governor of California, Jerry Brown to discuss Armenia-California bilateral relations and the possibilities for expanding mutual trade and investment, and cooperation in renewable energy, science and education sectors. The two agreed to start a process of developing a framework agreement between Armenia and California, that would outline the cooperation for years to come.

On June 27, in Washington DC, a panel discussion dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the U.S. took place at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

24.06.2017 • Ambassador Grigor Hovhannissian’s Meetings in the Silicon Valley

On June 23-24, Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Grigor Hovhannissian traveled to the Silicon Valley and the Bay area, where he held a number of meetings with the leading IT companies. Ambassador discussed the future of cooperation between the industry leaders and the Republic of Armenia in strategic areas of technology, such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and cyber security.

On June 6 Armenian Ambassador to the US Grigor Hovhannissian held a meeting with Deputy Assistant Secretary (Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs) Bridget Brink, Director of the Office of Caucasus Affairs and Regional Conflicts Natasha Franceschi, Armenia Desk Officer Ted Massey and Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Armenia Rafik Mansour.

On May 31 Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Grigor Hovhannissian held an annual briefing with the leaders of the US East Coast Armenian-American community: Eastern Diocese and Eastern Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Armenian General Benevolent Union, Armenia Fund, Armenian Bar Association, Fund for Armenian Relief, Armenian Relief Society of Eastern USA, Knights and Daughters of Vartan, Tekeyan Cultural Association, Children of Armenia Fund, Armenian Council of America, Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, Armenian Revolutionary Federation, Armenian Assembly of America, Armenian Missionary Association of America, Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America, and the Armenian print media.

24.04.2017 • Commemoration of the 102nd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Washington DC.

On April 24 the Washington DC area Armenian community participated in the traditional wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The solemn ceremony was marked by the annual community prayer, offered by Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, Diocesan Legate of the Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church in Eastern US, joined by Soorp Khatch Armenian Apostolic Church pastor, Father Sarkis Aktavoukian and St. Mary's Armenian Church pastor, Father Hovsep Karapetyan.

05.04.2017 • Annual commemoration of the Armenian Genocide at Capitol Hill

On April 5 the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the US joined the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, the Armenian Assembly of America and the Armenian National Committee of America for the annual Capitol Hill commemoration of the Armenian Genocide.
