On December 30th Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Varuzhan Nersesyan met with Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. (D-NJ). Ambassador Nersesyan congratulated Congressman Pallone on his recent reelection to the US Congress and wished him success in his future endeavors.

Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a condolence cable to U.S. President Donald Trump on the demise of George W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States. Nikol Pashinyan's message reads, in part, "We were deeply saddened to learn about the passing of the 41st U.S. President George W. Bush. He was a worthy American, a great patriot who left an outstanding mark not only in the history of the United States, but also in global politics. On November 15th the newly appointed Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Varuzhan Nersesyan presented the copies of his credentials to Ambassador Sean Lawler, Chief of Protocol of the United States.

28.06.2018 • Centennial Anniversary of the Republic of Armenia and the Unveiling of the Bust of Armenia’s First Ambassador to the United States at the Armenian Embassy in Washington DC

On June 28th, 2018, the Embassy of Armenia in Washington hosted a solemn ceremony to mark the Centennial Anniversary of the Republic of Armenia, under the auspices of President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian and First Lady Nouneh Sarkissian, attended by US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills, Adjutant General of Kansas National Guard Maj. Gen. Lee Tafanelli, the newly elected Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan, Bishop Anoushavan Tanielian of the Eastern Prelacy, the leadership of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and the Ramgavar Party, as well as representatives of more than a dozen Armenian-American organizations from around the United States.

26.06.2018 • Centennial Anniversary of the Republic of Armenia at the U.S. Senate

On June 26th President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian arrived to the United States on a three-day working visit. On the first day of the visit the President and the First Lady attended a reception at the US Senate to celebrate the Centennial anniversary of the Republic of Armenia and 100 years of US-Armenia diplomatic relations, organized by the Embassy of Armenia to the United States, the ARF Eastern Region and ANCA. Senator Menendez, as well as some dozen Representatives, including Co-Chair of the Armenian Caucus Jackie Speier, Representatives Anna Eshoo, Judy Chu, Brad Sherman, Dana Rohrabacher, Paul Tonko, Raja Krishnamoorthi, Brad Schneider, and others, spoke to a sold-out audience. The solemn ceremony also drew a number of senior members of the US administration – Departments of State and Defense, USAID, Office of the US Trade Representative, as well as several hundreds of community members across the USA.

22.03.2018 • The Inauguration of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Chicago

The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Chicago (consular district covering the States of Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota) was officially inaugurated on March 22, 2018. A ribbon cutting ceremony at the Armenia’s new consular office in downtown Chicago and the official installation of the Honorary Consul of Armenia – Mr. Oscar Tatosian, were followed by a diplomatic reception in Chicago’s historic Union League Club.

19.03.2018 • Session of Armenia-US Council on Trade and Investment in Washington

On March 19th, the US-Armenia Council on Trade and Investment (TIFA) convened its session at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), in Washington DC. Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Harutyunyan attended the meeting as part of the Armenian delegation. Since the inception of the TIFA in 2015 this was the second meeting of the sides.

05.03.2018 • The Opening Ceremony of the Francophonie Festival in Washington DC

On March 5th the Embassy of Armenia to the United States hosted the opening ceremony of the annual DC Francophonie Festival. The event was attended by Ambassadors and diplomats representing member countries of the International Organization of Francophonie, colleagues from the Department of State, representatives of Alliance Française, Smithsonian Associates and other cultural institutions.

24.10.2017 • Reception to Celebrate Armenia’s 26th Independence Day and the 25th Anniversary of US-Armenia Diplomatic Relations

On October 24 the Rayburn House Office Building hosted a reception to mark Armenia’s 26th Independence Day and the 25th anniversary of US-Armenia diplomatic relations, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the United States and the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, in partnership with the Armenian Assembly of America and the Armenian National Committee of America.
