Discussion at the US Congress

On February 19, the office of Congressman Frank Pallone, Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues organized a special discussion attended by the staff members of more than 60 US Congressmen. Mr. Hrachia Tashchian, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Armenia, Mr. Avetisyan, NKR Representative to the US, Mr. Aram Hamparian, ANCA Executive Director and Mr. Taniel Koushakjian, Communications Director of the Armenian Assembly of America delivered speeches at the event.

The speakers highly appreciated the active role of the US legislative body and, in particular, the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues in constantly raising issues related to Armenia and the Armenian people and including them in the U.S. political agenda.

In his remarks Deputy Chief of Mission of Armenia presented issues on the agenda of bilateral relations between Armenia and the United States, Armenia’s foreign policy priorities, particularly, the relations with neighboring countries, processes within the region, Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union and further deepening of relations with the European Union. Within the context of Armenian-American relationship, Hrachia Tashchian emphasized the input of the United States towards the development of Armenia, strengthening of democratic institutions and formation of civil society.
