Armenian Genocide Centennial Commemoration in New York

On April 26, within the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide a service was offered at St. Vartan Cathedral in New York. The service was conducted jointly by His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern) and His Eminence Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan, Prelate of the Prelacy of Armenian Apostolic Church of the Eastern United States, with the participation of the spiritual fathers of the Armenian Apostolic churches of East Coast.

H.E. Tigran Sargsyan, Ambassador of Armenia to the United States, H.E. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Permanent Representative of Armenia to the United Nations, Permanent Representatives, diplomats from more than 30 Missions accredited to the United Nations, as well as other high ranking guests attended the event.
After the service, thousands of Armenians gathered in front of the St. Vartan Cathedral, marched towards the Times Square.

US Senators Robert Menendez, Chuck Schumer, Congressman Frank Pallone, Turkish activist Taner Akcam, famous Armenian-American writer Chris Bohjalian and many others delivered remarks at the Times Square event. The special guest of the event was Sebu Simonian, member of Capital Cities band.
