Vice Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan’s meeting with California Governor Jerry Brown

16 October, 2017

On October 16 the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mr. Vache Gabrielyan met in San Francisco with the Governor of California, Jerry Brown to discuss Armenia-California bilateral relations and the possibilities for expanding mutual trade and investment, and cooperation in renewable energy, science and education sectors. The two agreed to start a process of developing a framework agreement between Armenia and California, that would outline the cooperation for years to come.

Following the meeting, Governor of California Jerry Brown welcomed Ararat, Shirak and Kotayk provinces of Armenia, which joined the California-backed Under2 Subnational Global Climate Leadership Memorandum of Understanding – a pact of subnational governments committed to combat climate change. With Armenia’s three provinces, the list of signatories has grown to 190 jurisdictions globally.
