Masis Mayilyan, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Artsakh paid a working visit to Washington

On October 28, the delegation led by Masis Mayilian, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, who was on a working visit in Washington, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the delegation, Ambassador Nersesyan presented Embassy agenda aimed at the implementation of the Armenian foreign policy priorities, highlighting the ongoing discussions in the House of the Representatives on the adoption of the Resolution on the Armenian Genocide.
Minister Mayilian presented the main directions and priorities of the Foreign Ministry of the Artsakh Republic including those aimed at the international recognition of Artsakh and the expansion of foreign ties.
On October 29, following the adoption of the Resolution on Armenian Genocide by the House of Representatives, the leaders and a number of members of the Armenian structures and community, as well as the delegation led by the Foreign Minister of Artsakh visited the Embassy.
On October 30, members of the Congress, leaders of the Armenian structures and community representatives attended the Congressional event dedicated to Artsakh’s Independence. Foreign Minister Mayilian presented the steps taken toward the international recognition of the Artsakh Republic, as well as cooperation in various levels with foreign countries and prospects of development of bilateral relations.
Ambassador Nersesyan extended his gratitude to all the members of Congress, including those present at the event, who voted in favor of the Armenian Genocide Resolution, emphasizing that it is an important move for restoration of historic justice and prevention of future genocides.
Reflecting on the Karabakh issue, Ambassador Nersesyan emphasized that there is no alternative to peaceful solution of Nagirno Karabakh conflict and also highlighted that Artsakh confidently pursues its path of democratic development.
On October 31, a reception in honor of the Artsakh delegation was held in the Embassy attended by representatives of the Armenian structures and Armenian community members.
Ambassador Nersesyan stressed that events of this kind can be also viewed in the context of PanArmenianism idea declared by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan at Renaissance Square, Stepanakert, based on the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora triunity. Ambassador highlighted the importance of such visits noting that they also have unique messages.
Minister Mayilian touched upon the situation on the Line of Contact, steps towards the international recognition of Artsakh, results of de-centralized cooperation. The foreign Minister also reflected upon various meetings held in Washington and emphasized the significance of the agreements reached during the working visit.
