Ambassadsor Nersesyan's lecture for the students of The Lutheran College Washington Semester

On April 7, upon the invitation of The Lutheran College Washington Semester (LCWS), H. E. Varuzhan Nersesyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the USA, provided a lecture for the students of various American Universities.

During the lecture Ambassador presented the profile of Armenia, briefed on the priorities of the Armenian foreign policy. Ambassador emphasized the Nagorno Karabakh issue, highlighted the challenges and humanitarian crisis after the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh. In this context Ambassador stressed the issue of Armenian prisoners of war and captured civilians and inhuman treatment depicted in numerous footages uploaded in social media.

Ambassador Nersesyan reflected on the Armenian Genocide and highlighted the importance of the international recognition as a means of prevention for future genocides. In this context Ambassador mentioned the denial policy by Turkey.

Ambassador once again expressed his gratitude to the countries which recognized the Armenian Genocide and emphasized the importance of the resolutions passed by the US Congress in 2019 and expressed hope that a recognition on the highest level will follow on April 24.
