U.S. congress commemorated the anniversary of the Sumgait tragedy

The 24th anniversary of the Sumgait tragedy was observed in Congress.

Congressional representatives Frank Wolfe, Judy Chu, Gary Peters, Howard Berman, David Cicilline, Anna Eshoo, Adam Schiff, Frank Pallone, Brad Sherman and others spoke and made extensive statements at the plenary session of the House of Representatives.

The speeches made in the House of Representatives were broadcasted by C-SPAN Channel, which reports on congressional functions throughout the U.S.

In their speeches and statements, the Congressmen condemned the massacre of Armenians in Sumgait, Baku and Kirovabad, Azerbaijan’s increased military spending, the ceasefire violations, accumulation of armaments, military rhetoric, the destruction of cross-stones in Julfa, ect.
