Armenia's 25th Anniversary Celebrated in Washington, DC

On September 28th, 2016 Embassy of Armenia to the United States and Hayastan All Armenian Fund hosted a reception dedicated to the 25thanniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia. The reception was held at the headquarters of the Organization of American States in Washington DC.

Among the dignitaries were the members of the House of Representatives Frank Pallone, Jackie Speier, Adam Schiff, Xavier Becerra as well as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Bridget Brink and the US co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group Ambassador James Warlick. Representatives of American clergy, Ambassadors and diplomats accredited to the United States, officials from various US government agencies, and American-Armenian community members attended the reception.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Hovhannissian highlighted the achievements reached by the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations. He highly appreciated the ongoing US technical and financial assistance aimed at reinforcing Armenia's democratic institutions and developing Armenia's economy. Ambassador Hovhannissian also emphasized the remarkable role played by the American-Armenian community in the development of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
