The meeting of the Deputy Foreign Minister with the USAID Acting Assistant Administrator

On January 14, in Washington D.C., Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan had a meeting with James M. Hope, the Acting Assistant Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

During the meeting, the parties touched upon the ongoing programs implemented by USAID in Armenia and discussed prospects for implementing new joint projects. The importance of the reform agenda implemented by the Government of Armenia as well as the joint efforts aimed at developing institutional capacities in Armenia was highlighted.

In the context of promoting regional economic development, discussions focused on the issues of unblocking regional economic and transport routes. The Deputy Minister presented the “Crossroad of Peace” concept introduced by the Government of Armenia and reiterated Armenia’s firm stance regarding opening communications in line with the principles reflected in the concept.
