On January 15 the Embassy of Armenia in Washington, D.C. was honored to host the meeting of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors in Washington, DC presided by the Ambassador of Gabon in the United States.

Addressing the Ambassadors, Chargé d'affaires and other representatives representing a number of countries – members of the International Organization of La Francophonie, Ambassador Lilit Makunts expressed pride in Armenia’s association with the Francophone family, emphasizing the importance of the values of solidarity, peace, and cultural diversity.

The Ambassador also took the opportunity to announce a landmark achievement in Armenia’s relations with the United States, namely – the signing of a historic document establishing a Strategic Partnership between Armenia and the United States.
