Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in the First Biennial Summit on sustainable, inclusive and resilient global economy

On September 24, in New York, within the framework of the 80th Session of the UNGA, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at “The First Biennial Summit for a sustainable, inclusive and resilient global economy: Implementing commitments on financing the SDGs”.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia stressed the existing gaps in financing the SDGs, emphasizing that the challenges are particularly multifaceted and complex for landlocked developing countries, given their limited access to global markets and supply chains due to geographical constraints.

Robert Abisoghomonyan highlighted that Armenia advocates for reforms of the international financial architecture to make it more inclusive and efficient. He added that it requires a stronger voice and participation from developing countries, as well as enhanced transparency and accountability in financing instruments.

The Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated the willingness of Armenia to deepen cooperation with international partners to ensure full implementation of the outcomes achieved within the framework of the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development.

In conclusion, the Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development can be advanced through joint action, based on solidarity, partnership and shared responsibility.
