Ambassador Markarian’s lecture at Johns Hopkins University

By the invitation of the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Washington D.C., the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United States Tatoul Markarian delivered a lecture for students in the Conflict Management program. The lecture focused on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Ambassador Markarian presented Armenia’s foreign policy towards the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, the current stage of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the negotiation process and prospects for resolution. After the lecture the Ambassador of Armenia answered numerous questions from the faculty and students, which primarily concerned the details on the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, negotiation process, regional developments, the role of societies, etc.

Students of the Conflict Management program plan to visit Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh in the near future, under the guidance of professor William Zartman of the School of Advanced International Studies.
