Dear friends,

Today we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America.

This landmark day allows us to recall the achievements of the past decades and to outline the prospects for further deepening and expanding the bilateral relations of our countries anchored on shared values.

For more than a century, the United States has been a critical contributor to the recovery and development of Armenia and Armenians. American continuous political, economic and humanitarian support to Armenia and Armenians has been vital. We would particularly highlight the assistance in our efforts to strengthen democracy and the rule of law and respect of human rights in Armenia.

During the dark days following the Armenian Genocide in its first ever international humanitarian effort, the US made possible for tens of thousands of Armenian refugees to settle down and get education in the USA thus laying a solid basis for the American-Armenians to contribute to the development of various realms of life in the US. Today the American-Armenian community also serves as a unique bridge between our countries.

President Biden’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide, on April 24th, 2021 as well as two bipartisan resolutions passed by both houses of the United States Congress earlier in 2019 was of significant importance of millions of Armenians around the world. We also believe that this recognition has reinstated the US as a world leader in moral justice.

During these 30 years the Republic of Armenia and the United States have been cooperating in a number of areas that enabled Armenia to become stronger as a sovereign and democratic state. With joint efforts we have been working on strengthening democratic institutions, combating corruption, promoting human rights, addressing humanitarian issues, opening doors through educational and cultural programs, expanding bilateral partnership.

In 2019 we elevated our relations to a completely new level of Strategic Dialogue, which enables our governments to engage in a deeper cooperation in numerous fields.
We are confident that the cooperation between our legislative bodies is another pillar of the continued development of our relations.

The United States is also an important partner for Armenia as OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair, the efforts of which in this context are aimed at comprehensive and lasting settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and ensuring regional stability and security.

Dear friends,
Today is more than relevant to express our sincere gratitude to all those statesmen, officials, individuals and organizations that exerted their tireless efforts throughout the decades to bring our relations to the current stage. We have a good and solid base to build on the continued close partnership.

Happy Anniversary!
