The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the United States organized the visit of the members of the Armenia-U.S. Parliamentary Friendship Group to Washington, D.C., from June 24 to 27. The delegation was led by Mr. Sargis Khandanyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. The delegation also included Members of Parliament Arusyak Julhakyan, Maria Karapetyan, and Gegham Nazaryan.

During the visit, the delegation held a number of meetings with members of the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as with representatives from analytical centers and think tanks.

The delegation met with Congressman Brian Mast, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. A roundtable discussion was also held with members of the Congressional Armenian Caucus. MP Maria Karapetyan participated as a speaker in the public briefing organized by the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (Helsinki Commission) on the topic “A Historic Opportunity: Advancing the Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Deal.”

Meetings were also held with Representatives Carol Miller (R), Young Kim (R), David Valadao (R), Robert Aderholt (R), Delia Ramirez (D). The delegation met with Chairman Vern Buchanan (R) and Ranking Member Dina Titus (D) of the House Democracy Partnership.

The delegation met with with the representatives of AIPAC and AJC.
